A 2017 study revealed that mental health issues were a concern for Chicago's Irish community.

Understanding the shame that exists around mental health issues and how this stigma makes it difficult for people to talk to their friends, family and co-workers about mental health concerns, we hoped to empower the Irish community to reach out to one another.

Irish Community Services designed HeadTalk -  a year-long education campaign focusing on mental wellness and designed to kick-start a community-wide conversation.

Each month, we wrote an article for the Irish American News and presented a segment on the Good Morning Ireland radio. Additionally, we posted frequently to social media about mental health topics and set up booths at large-scale Irish events offering information sheets about common mental health issues and where to find help.

Below, you'll find several resource sheets developed as part of the HeadTalk campaign.
